2020 has been a year of ups and downs and quarantining in our homes. It has been stressful, to say the least. There has never been a better time for a getaway to one of our favorite spa resorts in the US for some much needed R&R. These resorts have modified their normal procedures to accommodate COVID-19 restrictions and allow for a safe space to enjoy wellness activities and treatments. Andiamo has rounded up our top picks for your next spa vacation – whether you are traveling with your significant other, family or friend.
Miraval Berkshires (Lennox, MA)
Miraval, the tried and true wellness brand, opened its third location in the Berkshires this past August 2020 and the feedback has been phenomenal. The new Miraval property is just a drive away from many Northeastern locations and offers an unparalleled experience designed to introduce the art of wellness trips to the next generation. Each room and suite is modern in design and adorned with neutral tones to promote the relaxation. All rates are inclusive of breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages and come with large credits to use towards spa, golf and other private activities. We recommend spending the day hiking in the Berkshires or moving between fitness classes and spa appointments. This is a great option for couples looking to get out of the city or groups of friends looking for a girls trip destination.
Miraval Berkshires has a 3-night minimum for stays Fall 2020. Andiamo travelers will receive a complimentary upgrade on arrival (subject to availability) as well as an additional $100 resort credit per booking.
Shou Sugi Ban House (Hamptons, NY)
The name for this new luxury wellness property in the Hamptons stems from the ancient Japanese technique of preserving wood by charring it, a process that takes time but leaves the wood with a beautiful, resilient, transformed look (Shou Sugi Ban House website). The Shou Sugi Ban House opened its doors a few weeks ago in Water Mill, just 90 miles outside of New York City, providing a place of refuge for city dwellers who have been couped up during quarantine. Expect a combination of traditional spa treatments and healing arts rituals designed to draw on the natural elements of the property’s surroundings. Programs include nutrition, wellness rituals, fitness, yoga and breathwork as well as a variety of seasonal activities to connect with nature.
Choose from standard bookings, pre-designed packages or customize your stay to fit you and/or your group’s needs.
Perhaps one of the most famous wellness retreats in the US, undoubtably in California, The Ranch Malibu offers a different type of vacation – one with lasting results and an intense regimen of nutritional meals and physical fitness. Programs also include restorative yoga, stretching and massages to provide a holistic retreat. The Ranch Malibu is over 200 acres in the Santa Monica Mountains with state of the art trainers and guides to lead you throughout your trip. Programs at The Ranch are on a weekly basis, but you can also attend The Ranch 4.0, a program where you with stay at the stunning, newly renovated Four Seasons Westlake (LINK TO FS WESTLAKE). This is the perfect option for travelers who are curious and want to try out the program without committing to a week or who are not able to get away from real life for a full 7-days.
Ojo Sante Fe (Santa Fe, NM)
Sitting on 70-acres of self-described tranquility, Ojo Santa Fe may be one of the area’s best kept secrets. Located just 20 minutes from Santa Fe Plaza and 50 minutes from Albuquerque, a few nights stay at Ojo is a great addition to any trip in the area. The resort property features a variety of thermal pools, world class spa treatments and farm-to-table dining. The private Ojitos are nestled within the cottonwood trees and provide a COVID-19 safe way to enjoy a natural, mineral-infused soaking tub in the outdoors. Reservations are a must! Accommodations are housed in private casitas with private entrances and private patio. Some casitas can be made into 2-bedroom accommodations.
Mii Amo x Enchantment Resort (Sedona, AZ)
If you’re looking for an ideal setting for social distancing and getting outdoors, Sedona was designed for just that – with countless hiking and biking trails throughout the red rock mountains and many available options for outdoor dining. Andiamo’s favorite resort in Sedona is the Mii Amo Spa and Enchantment Resort. For those looking for an all-encompassing wellness experience, we recommend the 3, 4 or 7-night MIi Amo Journey at the Mii Amo spa property to truly reconnect with your body and with yourself. Or if you are looking for a bit of activity, a little spa time and a little time exploring the city, you can stay at Enchantment Resort where all guests have access to the Mii Amo spa for scheduled treatment appointments and can buy day passes for the facilities if they want to linger longer.
Enchantment Resort is offering a complimentary 4th night for stays between October 29, 2020 – February 12, 2021. This promotion is in addition to Andiamo’s amenities, including an upgrade on arrival (subject to availability), daily breakfast for 2 per room and a $100 resort credit per stay.
